Celsius 46 - Fast-Paced Planetary Management

Celsius 46 is a 3D resource management game built in Unity, where the player has to make sure the Earth survives global warming.

This was a team project of 6 people total, where I contributed as Technical Designer. I was responsible for deciding some main game systems, as well as tuning and balancing to achieve a desired difficulty and pacing for the game.

On the technical side, I contributed with assisting on tools development and using said tools to fine-tune game systems in-engine, and creating a couple of game-design-oriented shaders using Shader Graph, such as the outline highlight.

My Contribution

Game Design

  • Designed game systems, and balancing the resource management aspect, as well as the pacing and difficulty of the game, by working with in-engine self-developed tools.
  • Developed several prototypes for mechanics and player interactions.

Programming

  • Assisted with tools development to optimize the workflow of the team, especially on the design side.
  • Used Unity Shader Graph to create shaders for design purposes.

Sound Design

  • Selected and tuned sound effects and music where necessary (using Audacity), with a focus on delivering auditory cues to the player.
